plus spent many hrs burnin', converting files into DVD and etc
in order to play my files in my tv and the confort of my bedroom

So thrilled to be able to hook my external hard-drive directly to my LCD-TV and watch videos. It's just that easy. Plays all file formats that I need. Great Product!

While the unit advertises it will work with USB external hard drives, it does not mean portable hard drives, that is unless the portable hard drive has it's own external power supply (kinda defeats the idea of a portable drive). You don't find this out until you open the box and read the instructions (to find out why the device isn't showing up on the menu). I bought this unit with a Toshiba 320Gb portable hard drive unit and the NBOX won't recognize the Toshiba. The NBOX appears to work with a USB key and plays MPEG2 and AVI just fine. It's just a less versatile than I supposed.

I recently purchased the NBOX. It's reasonably priced, compact and easy to move around.
My only concern is that it will only play avi and mpg though it states it will play several other formats as well. In order to play those you have to have the download conversion software. That's a bit of a hassle for me..maybe not for someone else. The remote is very small but operable.

I like everything about this player, but two cons.
1)Component connection will not work with SD TV.
2)It maybe a bad video encoding, but if you use fast forward it will break sound/video syncing.

And the most important. When box comes to you it is set to PAL output. So if you are in North America you have to change it in settings. Otherwise screen will be light gray with stripes flicking across.

my price range is under 800$

i need a mobile solution that can handle these demands:

-word for writing
-browse wikipedia and other news sites on the go
-surf youtube
-reading adobe ebooks
-voice recording
-camera/video recording
-chat with msn instant messanger
-draw in paint
-watch HD content like dvds and torrents and possibly some light photo editing or video editing
-playing flash based games and accessing flash based websites
-playing some computer games like diablo 2 unreal tournament or steam games (portal halflife team fortress2 etc)

im looking for screen size no smaller than 3.7″ and no larger then 14.1″

i want good quality movies so im not interested in any “grainy” looking tablet screens

-what is the best solution
-can integrated graphics handle my gaming needs
-should i wait a few months to see what new technology releases
-does anyone have any predictions for 2010 tablet/smartphone technology release dates
-in 6 months time will a smart phone replace a laptop

Flash typically wont run on smartphones.

Netbooks have problems running Flash applications (very sluggish performance).

To meet all the requirements you listed get a regular laptop. You can get a decent one for well under your $800 budget.

Who likes “Marmalade Boy” (the anime)
I was randomly looking on demand on tv and I found this anime called Marmalade Boy. On Demand only had like the frist 6 episodes. I watched all of them they are so addicting. I tend to like the older anime shows like from the 80s and 90s the romantic high school ones. I like the music too. The show is so sentimental and deep unlike a lot of silly american kids shows. i love the characters too… I was thinking about buying some of the Marmalade Boy DVDs off amazon. so i can watch the rest of the episodes. is this a good idea who else likes marmalade boy :)
